Hyris Ltd first ranking for the Regione Lombardia COVID-19 Research fund with the project: COVES – Sviluppo e validazione di una metodica rapida per la rilevazione di SARS-CoV-2 su superfici ambientali

It is with great proud that we’ve been informed of the results relative to the call for projects issued by the Regione Lombardia on resources POR FESR 2014-2020 with the European Union and Italian government: “Misura a sostegno dello sviluppo di collaborazioni per l’identificazione di terapie e sistemi di diagnostica, protezione e analisi per contrastare l’emergenza Coronavirus e altre emergenze virali del futuro"
The COVES project aim is to develop and validate a rapid and easy sampling and analysis procedure for the SARS-CoV-2 virus on environmental surfaces. The project is designed to be point-of-care and to share results in real-time. The application of this technology allows the company on the territory to guarantee a safe working environment, reducing the negative impact that a health emergency like the COVID-19 may occur on the economic and productive tissue and reducing the “gap” between the information management and the solution proposed.
Hyris project regarding the test to identify the coronavirus presence on surfaces, in collaboration with CONSIGLIO NAZIONALE DELLE RICERCHE and ISTITUTO ZOOPROFILATTICO SPERIMENTALE DELLA LOMBARDIA E DELL'EMILIA ROMAGNA "BRUNO UBERTINI”, has been evaluated and rewarded with the top spot based on the team involved and the Innovation and overall quality. The project was admitted to the request for funds and then approved, therefore it will be carried out with contributions from the European Union, the Italian state and the Lombardy Region.
This achievement is particularly meaningful for us due to the caliber and prominence in the COVID-19 pandemic fight of the other participants who applied and have been evaluated with a lower total score.
We’re very proud of our team efforts which made all this possible and we look forward to new challenges, hoping to provide even better tools to fight the current pandemic and future viral emergencies.

È con grande orgoglio che siamo stati informati dei risultati relativi al bando della Regione Lombardia sulle risorse POR FESR 2014-2020 in collaborazione con Unione Europea e dello Stato Italiano: “Misure a sostegno dello sviluppo di collaborazioni per l’identificazione di terapie e sistemi di diagnostica, protezione ed analisi per contrastare l’emergenza Coronavirus ed altre emergenze virali del futuro”.
Il progetto COVES intende sviluppare e validare una procedura rapida e semplice di campionamento ed analisi del virus SARS-CoV-2 negli ambienti, utilizzando un dispositivo portatile con condivisione dei risultati in tempo reale. Tale tecnologia permetterà alle aziende del territorio di garantire una maggior sicurezza nelle aree di lavoro, riducendo l’impatto economico negativo
creato da emergenze sanitarie come quella del COVID-19 e diminuendo il “gap” tra la gestione delle informazioni e le soluzioni proposte.
Il risultato del progetto sarà la messa a punto di un metodo rapido di analisi ambientale per SARS-CoV-2, adatto ad un utilizzo da campo, da parte di operatori non esperti e corredato da una robusta validazione scientifica. Il progetto coinvolge Hyris Ltd, capofila del progetto, che sviluppa la tecnologia, il consiglio nazionale delle ricerche (IBBA CNR) che avrà in carico le validazioni del metodo e la sede territoriale di Pavia dell’Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale della Lombardia e dell’Emilia-Romagna (IZSLER) che ne validerà "in-situ" l'efficacia su diverse superfici contaminate utilizzando campioni positivi al SARS-CoV-2 a titolo noto.
